Biography of Chinami NAKAJIMA

Portrait of Chinami NAKAJIMA1945 - Japanese painter Chinami NAKAJIMA was born in Nagano Prefecture.
1969 - Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Japanese
Painting Course. Awarded his first prize at the 54th Inten Exhibition.
1971 - Completed the Master Course at Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School. Became a member of The Japan Art Institute.
1977 - Won the Encouragement Award at the 32nd Inten Spring Exhibition and the 62nd Inten Exhibition.
1979 - Won the Award of Excellence at the 5th Yamatane Museum of Art Award.
1984 - Became one of the committee members for setting up the 1st Yoko no Kai.
1985 - Received a Grand Prize at the 1st Nihonga Nude Grand Prize Exhibition.
1990 - Completed the mural paintings on the sliding doors at Rinshunkaku, the 6th room in Sankeien Garden.
1992 -
His private museum, Obuse Museum, Nakajima Chinami HallHirayama Ikuo Museum of Art was opened in Obuse city, Nagano Prefecture.
1994 - Became an assistant professor of Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts. Completed mural painting for the little alcove at Sai-kan VIP room of The Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.
1995 - Completed the stage curtain at Kabuki-za. Solo exhibition at Mitsukoshi Etoile, Paris.
2000 - Became a professor of Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts.
2004 - Completed the mural painting on the ceiling of Butsuden-kaku at Fukagawa Fudoson.
2013 - resigned as a professor of Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts.
2015 - Completed mural painting for the "SAKURA" room at Kongobu-ji Temple.
Currently, Chinami NAKAJIMA is a professor emeritus at Tokyo University of the Arts, and a member of the Artist Group "Wind".
