Biography of Yoshihiro SHIMODA

1940 - Japanese painter Yoshihiro SHIMODA was born in Toyama Prefecture.
1963 - Awarded his first prize at the Inten exhibition for his work "Prayer".
1978 - Became the Donin of the Japan Art Institute.
1979 - Awarded the Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts.
1983 - Awarded the Prime Minister Prize.
Currently, the Dojin and the director of the Japan Art Institute. Emeritus professor of the Kurashiki University of Science and the Arts.
