Enogu

Enogu is a coloring material used for painting (kaiga). For oil painting (abura-e), it means those colors (ganryo) which have been dissolved in an oil medium. But in Japanese painting (nihon-ga), color itself is called enogu. For other ways of painting (ga-ho), either of the above-mentioned types of colors is used.
