Iwa-enogu
This is a type of color used for Japanese painting. It is a powder made from
pulverized stone. There are gunjo, shu, taisha, odo of Iwa-enogu and these do not dissolve in water. As opposed to this kind of color, there are colors soluble in water which are called Mizu-enogu. In modern times, some of these colors are manufactured chemically.
