Biography of Kazuko GOKURA

1914 Japanese painter Kazuko GOKURA was born in Tokyo.
1936 Awarded her first prize at Inten for her work 'hydrangea'.
1960 Became Donin of the Japan Art Institute.
1970 Awarded the Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts.
1984 Awarded the Prime Minister Prize.
1990 Awarded the Imperial Gift Prize of Japan Art Academy.
Awarded the Japan Art Academy Prize.
1997 Appointed to the member of The Japan Art Academy.
2002 Selected to the Person of Cultural Merits.
Currently, the Dojin and the director of the Japan Art Institute.
