Biography of Misao YOKOYAMA

1920 - Japanese painter Misao YOKOYAMA was born in Niigata Prefecture.
1938 - Awarded his first prize at the 25th Kofukai Exhibition.
1939 - Entered Kawabata Art School. Awarded his first prize at the 2nd Shinkobijutsuin Exhibition.
1940 - Awarded his first prize at the 12th Seiryushaten Exhibition. Entered the 13th infantry regiment.
1945 - Detained in Siberia after the war ended.
1950 - Returned to Japan.
1951 - Entered the Study Group of the Seiryusha.
1953 - Exhibited at the 25th Seiryushaten Exhibition, and won the Encouragement Award.
1954 - Exhibited at the 26th Seiryushaten Exhibition, and won the Encouragement Award.
1956 - Held a solo exhibition for the first time at the Ginza Matsuzakaya Department Store.
1956 - Exhibited at the 28th Seiryushaten Exhibition, and won the Seiryu Award.
1958 - Became the "Shajin" of the Seiryusha.
1965 - Took on the job of teaching at Tama Art University.
1973 - Misao YOKOYAMA passed away at the age of 53.
