Taisei SATO Biography
1913 Japanese painter Taisei SATO was born in Kyoto Prefecture
1933 Entered the Kibo Kodama Private School (to 1936)
1943 Awarded his first prize at the 6th Bunten Exhibition
1947 Won the Special Award at the 3rd Nitten Exhibition
1966 Awarded the Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts at the 9th Nitten Exhibition
1967 Awarded the Japan Art Academy Prize
1980 Appointed to the member of The Japan Art Academy
1981 Took office as the Standing Director of the Nitten
1983 Took office as the Secretary-General of the Nitten
1985 Received the Third Order of Merit with the Order of the Sacred Treasure
Took office as the Chief Director of the Nitten
1988 Selected to the Person of Cultural Merits
1992 Given the Order of Culture
1993 Selected as an honorary citizen of Fukuchiyama City
2004 Taisei SATO passed away at 90
