Umetaro AZECHI Biography

Portrait of Umetaro AZECHI 1902 Japanese printmaker Umetaro AZECHI was born in Ehime Prefecture.
1920 Started to create prints.
1936 Published the first portfolio.
1937 Won the Kokuga-shogaku Award at the Kokuga-kai Exhibition.
1953 Started to create works with 'Mountain People' as its subject.
1973 Exhibition at The Museum of Art, EHIME.
1991 Exhibition at The Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts.
1999 Umetaro AZECHI passed away at 96 years old.
