Pan Real Art Association
An association formed in 1948 by Mikami Makoto, Yamazaki Takashi, Shimomura Ryonosuke and other young avant-garde (zen'ei) artists of Japanese painting who lived in Kyoto. They aimed for the creation of a new Japanese painting. Later, sculpture (chokoku), yoga (Western-style painting) and photographs (shashin) were added to its activities as well and it is still active.
