The night's lodge at Maple Bridge
A subject in painting which is based on a Chinese poem by Chokei (Zhang Ji) from "A Selection of Tang Poetry" : "The moon fallen, crows cawing, the world full of frost. Maple trees along the river, facing dim lights from fishing boats, quietly sleep. From Kanzan-ji Temple at the outskirts of the city of Koso, the sound of the bell at midnight reaches our passenger boat."
