Biography of Koichi NABATAME

Portrait of Koichi NABATAME1933 - Japanese painter Koichi NABATAME was born in Ibaraki Prefecture.
1950 - Awarded his first prize at the 35th Inten Exhibition.
1972 - Became a pupil of Toshio MATSUO.
1984 - Exhibited his work "Usurebi" at the 69rd Inten Exhibition, and won the Japan Art Institute Award.
1990 - Became the "Dojin" of the Restored Japan Art Institute.
1995 - Received the Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts at the 80th Restored Inten Exhibition.
1999 - Received the Prime Minister Award at the 84th Restored Inten Exhibition.
2000 - Received the Japan Art Academy Award.
2002 - Appointed to the member of The Japan Art Academy.
